Barry McFadzean is the Managing Director of Walterscheid Australia, with over 30 years personal experience in agricultural driveline systems and tractor attachments in both Australia and New Zealand. He began his career in New Zealand, later spending several years working in the United Kingdom and Europe. Warehouse Manager Andrew Sawyer has also been involved in the PTO shaft business for twenty years.
Both Barry and Andrew are possibly the most experienced people in Australia, and with their thorough knowledge of products, implements, tractors and power requirements, they are the best people to talk to regarding your agricultural driveshaft or connection system.
Combined with state of the art design and engineering, and constant on-line engineering in Germany, Walterscheid Australia often is involved with many Australian made and designed implement manufacturers. In fact the majority of implements designed around the world discuss their engineering and product requirements with a Walterscheid company - either USA, Europe or Australia.
In January 1997 GKN Walterscheid announced that an exclusive licence to manufacture the Walterscheid machinery parts had been granted to Jayben Australia Pty Ltd, an Adelaide based company with forty years experience in the manufacture of agricultural driveline equipment. Jayben now manufactures the higher volume power take off shafts and relative componetry.
Walterscheid Australia and Jayben Australia have combined their resources to form a manufacturing and marketing organisation to handle the complete range of Walterscheid products in the Pacific area. Jayben is now Australia's only agricultural PTO shafts manufacturer and the Royal Park factory has been expanded to cater for the increased production. The very high quality control standards exercised by the German company is strictly applied by the Australian company.
The advantages of local manufacture in time of crisis situations are immediately obvious, with the ability to quickly provide the specific products often required for local markets. Substantial cost savings have also been achieved which is good news for all our customers, the Australian produced product is now considerably cheaper.
